Abstract :
Working beyond the demands set by the company (OCB) is a behaviour expected by the company. Emotional intelligence is one of the factors supporting OCB behaviour. This study aims to determine the relationship between emotional intelligence and OCB in employees. This research is a correlational study with a subject of 113 contract employees of one of the State-Owned Enterprises taken by incident sampling technique. The scales used are the Emotional Intelligence Scale and the Organizational Citizenship Behaviour (OCB) scale. The data analysis method used is the Product Moment Correlation technique by Karl Pearson. The results of the analysis show that there is a significant positive relationship between emotional intelligence and OCB in employees (r = 0.585; with p = 0.001 (p <0.01), meaning that the higher the emotional intelligence of employees, the higher the employee's OCB and vice versa. The implication of this research is to make emotional intelligence one of the requirements in the recruitment process. Besides that, it can conduct cooperative training that can improve OCB in employees.
