Abstract :
Almond are nuts that consist of 3 parts, including the hull, shell and kernel. These nuts are usually consumed directly from the kernel. So, to consume these nuts, it is necessary to remove the hull and shell. The hull will be easily removed when the condition of the almonds is dry. The shell part is very difficult to break by hand so it is usually solved using special pliers, this will take a lot of time so a shell-breaking machine is needed to increase the productivity of breaking almond shells. Previously, an almond shell breaker machine has been designed to solve this problem. However, the machine that has been designed still has the drawback that it does not have a separator between the shell and the kernel. So this design aims to produce a produce a design for an almond shell breaking machine that produces kernel separated from the shell. Thus, this designed machine consists of breaking rolls, connecting parts of rolls and shaft, shaft, pulleys, v-belts, motor power, and selection of blower types.
