Abstract :
Background: Stroke is a desease that can couse death for 24 hours or more. The death rate from stroke is within 5 years, more than half of patients aged >45 years who died. This disease causes defects in the form of paralysis of the limbs, speech disorders, thought processes, as a result of impaired brain function. Therefore, Ners' Final Scientific Work (KIA-N) is to identify surgical medical nursing care in Mr. J with stroke.
Method: KIA-N uses case study research design to explore the problem of surgical medical nursing care in Mr. J. This case study is a series of child nursing processes from assessment, analyzing data, compiling nursing interventions, implementation and evaluation. Collection of data obtained from anamnesa, physical examination and observation.
The results: Of the study obtained 4 nursing diagnoses, namely, impaired verbal communication, impaired physical mobility, risk of ineffective cerebral perfusion, and spiritual distress. Then given interventions promoting speech deficit communication, mobilization support, monitoring of vital signs, and spiritual support. With the provision of AIUEO therapy to train patient articulation. With the result of all problems partiallyresolved.
Discussion: Nursing problems of verbal communication disorders, risk of ineffective cerebral perfusion, impaired physical mobility, spiritual distress in Mr. J. Has been done by giving slow speaking exercises and practicing AIUEO articulation.
