Abstract :
ABSTRACT The distance learning (DL) policy during the COVID-19 pandemic has forced teachers to involve multiliteracy and the media in their teaching process. This study uses a qualitative research approach to two teachers in SMAN 9 Samarinda regarding their teaching experiences. This qualitative study aims to investigate the perspective of EFL teachers on the use of technology and media in teaching English during distance learning. The results of the study indicated that teachers' perception to multiliteracy in SMAN 9 Samarinda can be seen in 4 aspects such as: in terms of the teacher's understanding of the concept of multiliteracy, the process of teaching multiliteracy, the teachers' struggle with multiliteracy, and the students' learning using multiliteracy. Based on the result, teachers 1 and 2 have narrow understanding of multiliteracy. In addition, they tried to use various inputs in implementing multiliteracy in the teaching-learning process. However, using media during distance learning (DL) has a few problems, such as an unstable network connection, bad weather, the internet access quota has run out, the shared gadget, and time constraints. Nevertheless, even though it has many problems in implementing multiliteracy, based students? learning found that the idea of integrating technology into the classroom is excellent.
