Abstract :
Shallot production in Indonesia in 2013 ? 2017 has decreased and is inversely proportional to the increasing harvested area. The low production of shallots is caused by the area of planting that is not large enough and the low fertility of the soil. The use of compost on the soil with the right dose can provide benefits including increasing soil fertility. This study aims to determine the effect of the type of compost on the growth and yield of shallot (Allium ascalonicum L.) at different doses. This research was conducted using a factorial Randomized Block Design (RAK) with 2 factors studied in 3 repetitions. The first factor is the type of compost (J) which includes goat compost (J1), cow compost (J2), and chicken compost (J3). While the second factor is the dose of compost (D) which includes 5 Mg/ha (D1), 10 Mg/ha (D2), and 15 Mg/ha (D3). The data obtained were analyzed using analysis of variation (ANOVA) and compared using the Honestly Significant Difference Test (BNJ) at the level of 5%. Based on the results of the study, it showed that there was an interaction between the compost treatment of goats, cows, and chickens and the compost dose of 5 tons/hectare, 10 tons/hectare, 15 tons/hectare on the number of leaves aged 50 DAP treatment of goat compost at a dose of 15 tons/hectare 50.15 ; the wet weight of tubers per clump of goat compost treatment at a dose of 15 tons/hectare was 81.49, and wind dry weight per clump of goat compost treatment at a dose of 15 tons/hectare 69.80. The type of compost treatment had no significant effect on the number of leaves aged 30- 40 days after planting and the diameter of the onion bulbs. Different dose treatments had no significant effect on plant height, number of leaves aged 50 days after planting, and diameter of shallot bulbs.
