The purpose of conducting research at SDN 05 Sumbermanjing Kulon is to first conduct initial observations, analyze needs and then develop a Pop Up Book learning media. Learning media is adapted to the needs of students. Teachers at SDN 05 Sumbermanjing kulon never use learning media when learning only uses objects that are in the surrounding environment. Problems that are known on average in participating in the learning process of class III students at SDN 05 Sumbermanjing Kulon still do not understand the theme 1 subtheme 1, which is about the characteristics of living things. In this sub-theme there are 3 subjects, namely the first SBdP contains material about the sound of a song in the short length of a song, then Indonesian subjects about the characteristics of living things and Mathematics subjects about reading the symbols of the numbers one, tens, hundreds and thousands and number place value.
The research uses the ADDIE method which consists of 5 stages, namely, analysis (Analyze), design (Design), development (Development), implementation (Implementation) and evaluation (Evaluation). The research subjects were 20 students of SDN Sumbermanjing Kulon 5. The data collection techniques used were observation, interviews and validation questionnaires. This research uses descriptive qualitative and quantitative descriptive analysis techniques.
The results showed that the Pop Up Book learning media product was in the valid and effective category for use in thematic learning. This is evidenced by the results of the validation of the material experts who obtained a percentage of 78.7% with a very feasible and valid category, the results of the validation of media experts obtained a percentage of 88.5% with a very feasible and valid category to be tested in learning. The results of the implementation on students can also be categorized as effective and students are easier to understand.
