Abstract :
The airport is one of the means of transportation available in Berau Regency. Kalimarau Airport, located in Berau City, East Kalimantan, is a class I airport serving ATR 72-500, ATR 72-600, Bombardier CRJ 1000 and Boeing 737-500 types. Kalimarau Airport has an existing runway of 2250 x 45 m, it is planned to be able to serve larger aircraft, namely Airbus A320 and B737-800 aircraft. This final project uses the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) method and the ICAO method to determine the length of an aircraft runway. Then using 2 methods in planning the runway pavement structure, the California Bearing Ratio (CBR) method produces a total pavement thickness of 26 inches and the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) method produces a total pavement thickness of 28 inches. Calculation of the budget plan for the runway pavement work at Kalimarau Airport using the CBR method produces a minimum thickness so that the costs required are more economical than using the results of pavement thickness using the FAA method. The total cost required to increase the length of the runway according to the needs of the planned aircraft is IDR 12,631,794,222.24
