Abstract :
Background: The aging process that occurs in the elderly causes a decrease in body functions. This decrease has an impact on physical fitness or physical fitness which is closely related to the level of physical activity carried out by the elderly. To determine the physical fitness that exists in the elderly, it can be done by measuring aerobic capacity or VO2max and measuring the level of physical activity using the GPAQ (Global Physical Activity Questionnaire) instrument. Research Objectives: To determine the relationship between the level of physical activity with physical fitness (cardio endurance) in the elderly. Research Methods: This study uses a literature review method, where this researcher uses several articles and journals that discuss accurately the research topic. Articles and journals were obtained from databases of Google Scholar, Pubmed, NCBI, Proques. Full text journal published from 2010 to 2020. Research Results: Based on the inclusion and exclusion criteria, there were 10 journals that matched the inclusion criteria. The results of this study are that physical activity carried out by the elderly is better in improving physical fitness (cardio endurance) than the elderly who do not do physical activity. Conclusion: In the articles and journals analyzed, it can be concluded that there is a relationship between the level of physical activity and physical fitness (cardio endurance) in the elderly.
