Abstract :
Background: A sedentary lifestyle is a pattern of human life that is not involved in sufficient activity or in other words minimal body movement. The impact of the phenomenon of students living a sedentary lifestyle during online learning is experiencing a decrease in mobility because more time is spent doing low activities such as sitting and lying down which is static. These activities can occur for hours, which last for months so that in the future it will have a bad effect on the student, one of the most pronounced is musculoskeletal disorders.
Objective: This study aims to determine the relationship between a sedentary lifestyle and the risk of low back pain in late adolescence.
Research Methods: This study used an analytic observational design with a cross sectional approach. Data were obtained using the Adolescent Sedentary Activity Questionnaire (ASAQ) and Nordic Body Map (NBM) questionnaires. This study was conducted using purposive sampling technique in sample selection. The sample in this study was UMM physiotherapy students batch 2020, with a total of 55 students and female respondents and the data were analyzed using the help of IBM spss statistics 25.
Results: Based on the Spearmen Rho correlation test, the results were p = .237, meaning that H0 was accepted because p>0.005 meant that there was no relationship between a sedentary lifestyle and low back pain.
Conclusion: There is no relationship between a sedentary lifestyle and the risk of low back pain in late adolescence.
