Abstract :
Introduction : The nutritional status in children under five years old Influenced the DHF severity, malnourished patient should a more severe condition compare to the normal nutritional status. Objective : to proof the correlation between nutritional status and DHF severity Research Method : a cross sectional observational study was performed in DHF patient who had an age under five years old, staying at the pediatric hospital ward in the Public Hospital of Cilacap with 155 samples were conducted. Spearman hypotesis was used to determine the correlation in this particular study. Moreover, correlation coefficient was used to proof the correlation degree. Result : The Spearman test with significance percentage about 95 % (α = 0,05) showed Asymp. Sig = 0,000, = 0,05. Correlation cohesiveness between nutritionalalower than status and DHF severity measured with correlation coefficient obtained the result about 0,415 included the medium category. Conclusion : This study reveals a significant correlation between the nutritional status in children under five years old and DHF severity with in medium category, it meant that other factors should influence DHF severity besides the nutritional status.
