Abstract :
In this study the aim was to find out interpersonal communication during training and competition in building mentality and performance to achieve achievements. The subject of this research is the football team of PS Perkeja Bojonegoro. Researchers conducted observations and interviews for data collection. Researchers are looking for how interpersonal communication is applied in PS Worker teams. Interpersonal communication within the team plays an important role in coordinating strategy and conveying motivation within the team. With good interpersonal communication used to coordinate strategy and convey motivation, it is hoped that team performance will increase. When the performance is good, the mentality in the team also builds up. A team that is in the best performance and has a competitive mentality will certainly find it easier to achieve achievements. This research produced several findings. From the subjects studied, it resulted in data that the goals of interpersonal communication, according to Devito, had been achieved in the process of coordinating strategies and conveying motivation. The resulting data is interpersonal communication that occurs within the team to achieve the goals to learn, to relate, to influence, to play, and to learn. The process of interpersonal communication within the team also has characteristics according to Devito, namely openness, empathy, support, positive attitude, and equality.
