Abstract :
Teachers interpret subjective career success based on good experience at work so as to produce satisfaction and increase performance. A good experience at work is created when the teacher is given work autonomy, namely the freedom to express ideas in teaching which he thinks is good. This study aims to determine the relationship between work autonomy and subjective career success. The sampling technique in this study used purposive sampling with the number of subjects as many as 117 Muhammadiyah school teachers in Malang. The measuring instrument uses the Work Autonomy Scale and the Subjective Career Success Inventory (SCSI) scale which has been adapted to the Indonesian version based on the pearson correlation test, the results of the study show that there is a significant positive relationship between work autonomy and subjective career success for Muhammadiyah school teachers in Malang (r=0,508 ; p=0,000). This means that the higher the level of work autonomy, the higher the level of subjective career success that is felt. On the contrary, the lower the level of work autonomy, the lower the subjective career success
