Abstract :
This research discusses the Effectiveness of the International Organization for Migration (IOM) in Handling Human Trafficking in Bosnia and Herzegovina, where the Government of Bosnia and Herzegovina cooperates with the International Organization for Migration (IOM) as an international organization that helps overcome human trafficking and controls irregular migration in a country. The research method used is qualitative using a descriptive approach. Researchers use the Theory of International Organizational Effectiveness which aims to analyze whether or not the International Organization for Migration (IOM) is effective in dealing with human trafficking in Bosnia and Herzegovina. References to collect data, researchers use secondary data in the form of library data from books, journals, theses, online news and official websites. The research results show that the Government of Bosnia and Herzegovina has not fully complied with the minimum standards for eliminating human trafficking and has not made any significant efforts to do so. Even though there were no significant efforts, the government took several steps to address human trafficking, one of which was joining the International Organization for Migration (IOM). Although in this case, seen during the period 2012-2021 the number of victims of human trafficking is still unstable (fluctuating), it does not affect the effectiveness of the International Organization for Migration (IOM) in dealing with human trafficking in Bosnia and Herzegovina. This is measured from the theory of the effectiveness of international organizations by Frank Biermann and Steffen Bauer.
