Abstract :
Terms of address are a word or phrases used to address another person or the interlocutors with different factors and situations. The purpose of this research is to find out the types of terms of address that are used and the most dominant used by Meilin Lee as the main character in Turning Red movie. The type of research used in order to examine the data in this study is descriptive qualitative research which describes the reasons for the occurrence of terms of address found in the movie. The researcher utilizes the Turning Red movie script and the movie itself as the research object, and the table categorized was created with the type of address terms and the reason that affected the terms of address itself as the instrument. Based on the movie script, there are several data found that collectively express the terms of address. The researcher draws the following conclusions from the research which is there are seven types of address terms but only six types that can be found in the movie which is first name (FN), last name (LN), title + last name (TLN), pet name (PN), kinship terms (KT), and mockery terms (MT). Since the primary genre of the movie is a family and comedy movie, terms of address using title (T) are not found. Also, the conclusion is that the most dominant use of terms of address in Turning Red movie is kinship terms (KT).
