Abstract :
Background : Patients with chronic kidney disease (CKD) undergoing hemodialysis therapy experience many changes in their lives and require ongoing psychological adjustments during the course of their illness. Changes in the conditions experienced by patients with CKD can become a stressor that results in the emergence of neuropsychiatric disorders. The prevalence of anxiety disorders and symptoms of anxiety is the highest neuropsychiatric disorder compared to other neuropsychiatric disorders in patients with CKD undergoing hemodialysis therapy.
Objective : To describe the level of anxiety in patients with chronic kidney disease undergoing hemodialysis at RSI Aisyiyah of Malang.
Method : This study employs a descriptive research model with survey methods. Data collection used the Zung Self-Rating Anxiety Scale (SAS/SRAS) questionnaire. This study used total sampling. There were 41 patients with CKD undergoing hemodialysis therapy at RSI Aisyiyah of Malang. Questionnaires were distributed to all patients. Then performed univariate analysis with SPSS.
Research result : The results of the study showed that 36 respondents (87.8%) did not experience anxiety and 5 respondents (12.2%) experienced mild anxiety.
Conclusions : Patients with CKD undergoing hemodialysis experiencing anxiety symptoms about 12,2%.
