Abstract :
Controlling illegal parking is a serious problem for all cities and regencies throughout Indonesia, especially in Malang City itself. Where the Malang City Government and the Malang City Transportation Service carried out a strategy to control illegal parking in their area, especially in the Pasar Besar City of Malang. This study aims to determine the strategy of the City Transportation Service in controlling illegal parking in Malang City, especially the Big Market in Malang City and the obstacles experienced by the Malang City Transportation Service. The type of research used is qualitative research with data collection techniques in the form of interview results and documentation of the activities of the Malang City Transportation Service. The results of this study indicate that the strategy carried out by the Malang City Transportation Service is very effective from planning to the mechanism for imposing sanctions on illegal parking violators. However, what has become a minus in the efforts made by the Malang City Transportation Service is the lack of firmness in parking control regulations in Malang City. The Malang City Transportation Agency only prioritizes human resource development for parking attendants and parking fees without compensating for strict regulations in controlling illegal parking. The conclusion is that the strategy carried out by the Malang City Transportation Agency in controlling illegal parking in Malang City, especially in Pasar Besar Malang City, is very effective and the performance in implementing the strategy is very good in controlling illegal parking in Malang City, especially Pasar Besar Malang City.
