Abstract :
English becomes the most important language in the world as an
international language and used by the people to communicate or get information
around the world. Reading is very crucial because through reading person can
get the key point of the information sent or read from the printed page and people
who read a lot will have knowledge and latest information to facilitate in having
good speaking, writing and listening. This research aims to find out the effect and
significant effect of the students reading comprehension by using partner reading
strategy. This research utilized a quantitative methodology with a quasiexperimental
design. The sample of this research is eight grade students of
Junior High School 1 Sekampung Udik. The result of hypothesis test that the sig
value was 0.000 in first hypothesis and 0.039 in second hypothesis, it indicated
that partner reading strategy has an effect and significant effect on students?
reading comprehension. In conclusion, partner reading strategy is an effective
approach to improve reading comprehension among students. Future
researchers should also investigate how these strategies apply to different
subjects and educational levels to see if the benefits observed in reading
comprehension are applicable elsewhere.
