Abstract :
Digitalization has been a big impact on every aspect of life, including
tourism, business, and education. Digitalization has significantly impacted
education, particularly in teaching reading. Carousel brainstorming strategy is
appropriate strategy in teaching reading comprehension it requires students to
access background knowledge or review what they have learned by thinking
about subtopic within a boarder topic.
The aim of this research is to find out whether Carousel brainstorming
strategy can improve the students? reading comprehension and how is the
process of teaching reading using Carousel brainstorming strategy at tenth grade
of SMK Taruna Utama Melinting in academic year 2023/2024. The method of this
research is Classroom Action Research (CAR). This research discusses how to
improve Students? Reading Comprehension by Using Carousel Brainstorming
Strategy.
The result indicates that the researcher conducted two cycles with the
students' average post-test scores from Cycle 1 is 58 and in Cycle 2 is 75 with
average differences 17. This research concludes that the carousel brainstorming
strategy helps teacher to improving students' reading comprehension. The future
researchers may explore further research on the carousel brainstorming
strategy's effectiveness across various educational contexts and diverse student
groups.
