Abstract :
This research is entitled Marriage Life in the Novel Gone Girl by Gillian Flynn. This study aims to describe the picture of married life and its influence on changes in the personality of Amy's character. This study apply a qualitative descriptive method, which elaborate the data to be described to find the elements which are then analyzed. The approach used is the sociology of literature approach. The theory used to describe the social background of married life in this study are Nurgiyantoro (2015), for analyzing the character and characteristic, researcher is using Abrams (1999) and the theory used for analyzing the conflicts is from Sayuti?s (2000) theory. The results of this study describe married life and its influence on changes in the personality of Amy's character. The marriage described in the novel Gone Girl includes economic problems, affair, and domestic violence. The influence of the marriage life towards the personality of Amy's characters includes changes to a gloomy, anti-social, and manipulative.
