Abstract :
Ramlan Kurniawan. Tilapia Cultivation with a Vertiqua (Vertical Aquaculture) System. Supervised by Novita MZ, S.Pi., M.Si. dan Dr. Robin, M.Si. Development activities that increase along with population growth cause land conversion which causes the area of aquaculture to decrease. Therefore, it is necessary to develop innovations in carrying out aquaculture activities. Vertiqua (Vertical Aquaculture) is one of the innovations developed to carry out cultivation activities on limited land found by the Aquaculture Study Program, UMMI. In this study, testing the effectiveness of 3 levels of vertiqua for tilapia cultivation was carried out. Tilapia fish used as many as 30 fish per box with filtration media using a biological filter kale. The effectiveness of vertiqua was analyzed based on the growth value of tilapia, water quality, and feed efficiency. Parameters observed were daily weight growth rate of fish (LPBH), growth rate of fish elongation (LPPH), growth rate (GR), specific growth rate (SGR), water quality, and feeding efficiency (EP). The results showed that the LPBH of tilapia during the study was 0.95%/day, LPPH 2.49 5/day, GR 0.24%/day, and SGR 2.53%/day. The results of water quality measurements showed a temperature of 24-25 0C, pH 6.5, and ammonium 0.24-0.64 ppm. The feed efficiency value is 43.42%. Based on these values, it can be concluded that the use of vertiqua for tilapia cultivation is quite effective.
