Abstract :
Pulmonary TB is a disease caused by Mycobacterium tuberculosis, which is an aerobic bacterium that can live especially in the lungs or in various other organs of the body that have a high partial pressure of oxygen. This case study is motivated by the increasing number of pulmonary TB in Indonesia and in West Java, especially in Cianjur. One of the nursing problems in patients with pulmonary TB is the ineffectiveness of airway clearance, there are many actions that can be taken to overcome these nursing problems, including the provision of chest physiotherapy. Chest physiotherapy is a physiotherapy technique that is usually used in training for chronic and acute respiratory diseases, aimed at removing sputum and improving ventilation in the diseased lung. The purpose of this case study is to apply chest physiotherapy which is expected to produce sputum. This type of research is a case study method. The subjects taken were 1 participant, namely Mr. A who suffered from pulmonary TB in Kp. Legok Jaya Sukajaya Village Rt 01 Rw 06 Kec. Cugenang Kab.Cianjur the application of chest physiotherapy to Mr. A was carried out 1 time a day for 3-5 minutes in 3 visits. The data of this research were taken through observation and interview methods. The results of the study stated that there was a discharge of secretions after chest physiotherapy was given.
