Abstract :
Diarrhea or loose stools is defined as defecation with unformed stools or liquid with a frequency of more than 3 times in 24 hours. According to WHO (World Health Organization) in 2015 diarrhea is the second most common cause of death worldwide. The five countries with the highest incidence of deaths in children due to diarrhea are India, Nigeria, Pakistan, Democratic Republic of the Congo, and Angola. Indonesia ranks 7th. Deaths of children under five years (toddlers) worldwide which resulted in the death of 9% of the total 530,000 deaths per year. Data from the Sukabumi City Health Office, diarrheal disease ranks 4th out of the 20 highest diseases, with 29,689 cases of hypertension. The purpose of this scientific paper is to gain real experience and can improve the ability to carry out direct and comprehensive nursing care for children with diarrhea cases. The author found a case of diarrhea in An.H aged 4 years 9 months in the Cibeureum area of Sukabumi City. After conducting the assessment found 3 nursing problems in An.H including diarrhea related to the infectious process, intestinal inflammation, lack of fluid volume related to active fluid loss and damage to skin integrity related to frequent excretion / defecation. Planning is carried out according to the diagnosis found. Nursing actions are more focused on the application of honey therapy to treat diarrhea.
