Abstract :
This thesis is entitled ?Race Discrimination against Mutant Race in the Graphic Novel XMen: God Loves, Man Kills by Christopher Claremont and Brent Eric Anderson?. The purpose of writing this thesis is to describe and explain the types and the factors and impacts of racial discrimination that appear on the graphic novel. The theory used applied in this study is the theory of Sinha (in Moore. 2008: 272) for Racial Discrimination, then the theory of Types of Discrimination from Pincus (1994: 186), and the theory of Factors and Impacts of Racial Discrimination from Bielby (2000: 120-125) . The research method applied is descriptive qualitative method with designs in the form of pictures, dialogues, and descriptions. The conclusion from the writer for this research that the writer found was that the writer did not find any data showing Structural Discrimination, only found two types of discrimination against the mutant race, namely 1) Personal Discrimination such as Kitty Pryde who was furious with Daniel's attitude calling him a Godless Mutant and 2 ) Institutional Discrimination such as the Purifiers squad that killed two innocent Mutant race children. Then the factors and impacts are mostly from the Racial Factor.
