Abstract :
The research is entitled Magical Realism ofSamantha Kingston Character in Before I Fall Novel by Lauren Oliver. The purposes of this research are to describe magical realism elements and the influences of magical realism to Samantha Kingston characterin Before I Fall novel. The research method applied is descirptive qualitative with objective approach. The theory applied are magical realism by Bowers (2004) and Faris (2004), theory of character Aminuddin (2002) and Nurgiyantoro (2002) and caracterization Nurgiyantoro (2002), theory of plot Kenney (1966) and Nurgiyantoro (2002). The results of this study are the elements of magical realism on Samantha Kingston charactersuch as the unsettling doubts and disruption of time, space,and identity. The influence of magical realism to Samantha Kingston character such as raising awareness, act of valuing times, and caring.
