Abstract :
This research is entitled Krisis Identitas pada Tokoh Addy Prentiss dalam Novel One of Us is Lying Karya Karen M. McManus. The objectives of this research are to describe the factors behind the identity crisis and the identity development of the character Addy Prentiss in Karen M. McManus? One of Us is Lying. The theories used in this research are Erikson?s psychology theory of identity crisis (1968), Santrock?s aspects of self-identity (2001), and Erikson?s theory of identity development which is based on Marcia?s theory of identity statuses (1966). The method of this research is descriptive qualitative. The approach used in this research is literary psychology approach. The results of this research describe the factors behind Addy Prentiss? identity crisis, such as adolescence, parental divorce, parental pressure/expectation, and breakup. Then, the identity development of Addy Prentiss which includes three identity statuses, namely identity foreclosure, identity moratorium, and identity achievement. Each identity status describes the aspects of her relationship, personality, and physical identity.
