Abstract :
The Covid-19 pandemic entered Indonesia in March 2020 which resulted in the paralysis of
several aspects, one of the aspects directly affected by the impact of Covid-19, namely the aspect
of education. The Indonesian government introduced online learning for all levels of education,
from Kindergarten to Higher Education. This has caused teachers in elementary schools to use
gadgets in online learning during the pandemic. Learning to use gadgets has a negative impact
on the eye health of school-age children. The negative impact on eye health is the existence of eye
refraction disorders in school-age children such as myopia, hypermetropy, prebyopia and
astigmatism. Myopia eye disorders can occur in school-age children (6-12 years) due to
uncontrolled use of gadgets. Symptoms of myopia include eye strain, blurred vision, dizziness and
eye discomfort. Dizziness and discomfort in the eyes can be reduced by non-medical therapy,
namely eye exercises. The purpose of applying eye exercises is to determine the effectiveness of
eye exercises for myopia symptoms. This writing method uses the case study method. The subjects
used were 1 (one) person with myopia symptoms. Data collection uses assessment and
intervention. The results of the application show that after doing eye exercise therapy for 3 days
4 times a day, complaints of myopia symptoms continue to decrease day by day. The author
concludes that the application of effective eye exercises can reduce myopia symptoms from gadget
addiction. It is hoped that the results of this study can be used as a contribution of knowledge for
nursing students regarding school-age children who are addicted to gadgets with myopia
symptoms.
