Abstract :
Hypertension is a non-communicable disease (PTM) which is a very serious problem. Slow Deep
Breathing exercise is a form of non-pharmacological therapy, in this case the nurse teaches the client
how to do the Slow Deep Breathing technique (maximum inspiration) and how to exhale slowly. In
addition to reducing pain intensity, the Slow Deep Breathing technique can also increase pulmonary
ventilation and increase oxygenation in the blood. The general purpose of the application of the Slow
Deep Breathing technique is to reduce blood pressure in hypertensive patients. With data collection
techniques with techniques through interviews, observation and literature study. The results of the
application of Slow Deep Breathing to lower blood pressure in hypertensive patients with an initial
pain scale before the application of the Slow Deep Breathing technique 4 (0-10) and after being given
the application of the Slow Deep Breathing technique the pain scale becomes 1. The authors conclude
