Abstract :
Non-communicable diseases (PTM) are the most common cause of death in the
world. One of the non-communicable diseases which is the most important health
problem today is hypertension. Hypertension is a condition in which a person's
blood pressure rises above the normal blood pressure value, ie. if the results are
above the norm, the systolic blood pressure exceeds 140 mmHg and the diastolic
pressure exceeds 90 mmHg. This hypertension if left unchecked can be dangerous
and even life-threatening and lead to death, but this hypertension can be managed
with non-medical treatment, namely lavender aromatherapy. The advantage of this
therapy is that it is easy to do, can be done anywhere, by anyone, and has no side
effects. The purpose of this study was to determine the effectiveness of lavender
aromatherapy in reducing blood pressure and reducing pain. This research method
uses a case study strategy. This lavender aromatherapy is carried out for 5-10
minutes for 3 consecutive days, after which observations are made again. The
results after lavender aromatherapy are blood pressure from 160/100mmHg down
to 130/80mmHg, pain on a scale of 5 (0-10) to 2 (0-10). It can be concluded that
the use of lavender in aromatherapy is effective for lowering blood pressure and
reducing pain intensity in hypertension sufferers.
