Abstract :
Welding is a process of joining two pieces of metal by utilizing heat or compressive energy. Welding of different types, namely the development of modern welding technology as a result of the need for joining materials that have different types of metal. How is the distribution of heat in the welded joints of different types of steel ASTM A36 and AISI 304 which are formed after welding using a numerical method, what are the residual stresses that appear, and what is the good welding current to minimize residual stresses. The purpose of this study was to determine the analysis of heat distribution in ASTM A36 and AISI 304 steel welded joints using ANSYS 2022 R2 software, to determine the residual stress analysis in different types of welded joints, to determine the good current strength of the welded joint. In this study, simulation of residual stress was carried out on welded joints of different types of ASTM A36 carbon steel and AISI 304 stainless steel. The numerical method used in this research is Software Ansys R2 2022 Student Version. From this study, the highest peak temperature value was obtained at a current strength of 80 A of 2406.6 ?. At a current of 100 A with a highest temperature of 2677.5?. At a current of 120 A with a highest temperature of 2786 ? and the magnitude of the maximum residual voltage value of the 80 A variation is 241.02 MPa, for the 100 A variation it is 269.29 MPa, for the 120 A variation it is 280.61 MPa. From the three simulations carried out, to get the right residual stress to minimize the smallest distortion with a variation of 80 A which is equal to 241.02 MPa
