Abstract :
ABSTRACT NURIA RIZKY FRANSISKA: The Effect of PjBL (Project Based Learning) and TPS (Think Pair Share) Learning Models on Students' Ability to Understand Mathematical Concepts. Thesis, Ponorogo: Mathematics Education Study Program, Muhammadiyah University Ponorogo, 2023. The aims of this study were to: (1) find out whether the PjBL learning model had an effect on students' ability to understand mathematical concepts, (2) find out whether the TPS learning model had an effect on the TPS learning model on students' ability to understand mathematical concepts, and (3) find out which effect is more effective between the PjBL and TPS learning models on students' ability to understand mathematical concepts. This research is a true experimental design quantitative study with 2 experimental classes. The experimental class 1 was treated by the PjBL learning model and the experimental class 2 was treated by the TPS learning model. This research was conducted at SMA Negeri 1 Babadan with a population of all students in class X and the sample was class X1 and class X7 which were selected by simple random sampling technique with the same number of students, that is 32. Students gave explanations in the form of pretest and posttest. The data in this study were obtained from the results of students' test work. The test used in this study is the t-test. Based on the results of this research, it is concluded that the first result is the PjBL learning model influences the ability to understand students' mathematical concepts. This can be seen from the results of hypothesis testing 1 with a sign value = 0.000, which is < 0.05, it means that H_0 is rejected. Results The next conclusion is the TPS learning model influences the ability to understand students' mathematical concepts. This is based on the results of hypothesis testing 2 where the value obtained is sign = 0.000, which is <0.05 so that H_0 is also rejected. Conclusion The final result is the PjBL learning model is more effective than the TPS learning model for the ability to understand students' mathematical concepts. It can be seen from the results of hypothesis testing 3 that a sign value = 0.000 <0.05 is obtained, so H_0 is also rejected.
