Abstract :
This thesis is entitled Publicity of the Methik Padi Tradition Festival in Public Relations Activities in Glinggang Village, Ponorogo Regency. This is motivated by the desire of the Glinggang Village Government to publicize the rice methik tradition festival which is a typical culture of Glinggang Village. However, there are some people who view this tradition from a different perspective and consider it a shirk practice. Publicity needs to be done because it aims to disseminate information on the rice methic tradition festival, increase public awareness in maintaining cultural preservation, build a correct understanding of the meaning of the rice methic tradition, and can help build a positive image and strengthen the cultural identity of Glinggang Village. The purpose of this study is to describe the publicity of the rice methic tradition festival that can play a role in public relations activities, describe public relations activities that can contribute to creating and managing positive rice methic tradition festival publicity for Glinggang Village, and describe the barriers to publicity of the rice methic tradition festival in supporting activities public relations in Glinggang Village. This study used a qualitative approach with descriptive research, data collection methods using observation, interviews, and documentation. While the data analysis technique used in this study uses the Milles and Hubberman model which consists of data collection, data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The result of the conclusion of this study is that the role of effective publicity can support and strengthen public relations activities. Through the use of external media and utilizing news value, this publicity helps in recognizing and understanding the meaning of tradition, preserving traditions, and building a mutually beneficial relationship between Glinggang Village and the community and the media. Glinggang Village public relations has taken strategic steps in carrying out publicity activities for the rice methic tradition festival, including creating interesting content, providing accurate information, collaborating with outside media, and careful evaluation.
