ABSTRACT Mohammad Wafiq Izroi, 2023, Student Manners in the Book of Ta'limul Muta'allim by Sheikh Burhanuddin Az-Zarnuji and its Relevance for Character Education in Elementary Schools, Madrasah Ibtidaiyah Teacher Education Study Program, Faculty of Islamic Religion, Muhammadiyah University, Ponorogo, Supervisor (I) Dr. Anip Dwi Saputro, M.Pd, Supervisor (II) Dr. Sigit Dwi Laksana, M.Pd.I Keywords: Education, ethics of science students, students, MI, elementary school, elementary school, Ta'lim Muta'allim, Sheikh Burhanuddin Az-Zarnuji. Adab is part of morals, manners are a way of socializing with fellow creatures, whether humans, animals or plants. As a student who is studying, you must have manners for students, both manners towards teachers, towards books and towards friends. The book ta'limul muta'allim by Sheikh Burhanuddin Az-Zarnuji is a book that can be a resource for students, the book ta'limul muta'allim contains 13 chapters which describe 9 adabs in seeking knowledge. In the midst of the erosion of the manners of science students which is caused by several factors such as the way parents educate them, environmental factors, playmate factors, social media factors which make it easier to spread examples of uncivilized actions, and civilized education curriculum factors which only emphasize black values above. white, instead of focusing on the practice of cultivating and emulating adab and character, the Muta'allim ta'lim book is very relevant as a source of adab education. This research was conducted with the aim of: (1) To find out student etiquette in the book ta'limul muta'allim by Sheikh Burhanuddin Az-Zarnuji (2) To find out the importance of the relevance of pupil etiquette in the book ta'limul muta'allim by Sheikh Burhanuddin Az- Zarnuji for character education in elementary schools. This thesis uses a literature study research method to analyze the thoughts of Sheikh Burhanuddin Az-Zarnuji in the book ta'limul muta'allim about student etiquette and its relevance to character education in elementary schools The conclusion of this research is that elementary school age is a very suitable age for exemplifying ethical values, because at this age children are starting to think about finding their identity, children are starting to be able to be managed and directed and children are starting to be able to take responsibility, especially responsibility for good behavior or good manners and obeying the rules. Book of ta'limul muta'allim. Sheikh Burhanudin Az-Zarnuji's work is very complete and detailed as a source and guide for the education of science students. There are 9 chapters on the ethical values of students of knowledge in the book Ta'limul Muta'allim. the work of Sheikh Burhanudin Az-Zarnuji, namely: 1). Intention to seek knowledge, 2). Choosing knowledge, teachers, friends, and knowledge steadfastness, 3). respect for science and scholars', 4). Perseverance, interest and continuity, 5). Beginning of learning, learning capacity and learning rules, 6). Tawakkal, 7) love and advice, 8) istifadhah/taking lessons, 9) waro' (taking care of yourself).
