ABSTRACT
In Bringinan Village there is a special organization to manage PMI, namely the
Immigrant Workers community (KOPI), KOPI itself was formed in 2018 which has the
idea to conduct training and improvement of management and assistance to mirgrant
workers. And in collaboration with the Institute For Education Delevopment, Social,
Religious and Cultural Studies (INFEST) from Yogyakarta as a companion. The KOPI
program is also expected to assist villages in providing protection for village PMIs as well
as educating the community regarding PMI rights and providing knowledge and
empowerment to formen PMIs and their families. This study aims to determine the
socialization of the Indonesian Migrant Bringinan Village, Jambon District, Ponorogo
Regency (PMI).
In this study using a qualitative approach with the determination of informants
using the Snowball sampling technique (snowball). This socialization waas given to the
people of Bringinan Village in order to know the their families, because this socialization
is not intended for PMI candidates but all Bringinan Village communities. In addition to
socializing, KOPI provides public servises where KOPI provides assistance in managing
document and administrative requirements, placement and protection of PMI candidates as
well as providing education to PMI candidates about law and health. This legal education
aims to provide provisions for PMI candidates to know the law, especially the law in the
destination country in order to avoid injustice when dealing with the law there as well as
health education to avoid Indonesian citizens returning home sick or dead.
