Abstract :
The development of the internet has made almost all people use it to access online media, one of which is currently being accessed by a wide audience, namely Instagram, even companies/agencies are also using it. Muhammadiyah University of Ponorogo (UMPO) itself is a private university (PTS) in Ponorogo Regency which is fairly active in using Instagram as an effort to implement cyber public relations. Seeing this phenomenon, researchers are interested in examining how the implementation of cyber public relations carried out by Public Relations and Cooperation of the University of Muhammadiyah Ponorogo through social media Instagram as a practicing medium from the current scope of public relations. The research method is descriptive qualitative using several kinds of literature such as social media, scientific journals/articles, books, and interviews with research informants conducted in January 2022. The results obtained from the implementation of cyber public relations through social media Instagram @unmuh.ponorogo at the University Muhammadiyah Ponorogo cannot be separated from the efforts made by the Public Relations and Cooperation section. Indirectly, all efforts have been quite successful in carrying out Public Relations activities when implementing cyber public relations itself under the scope of work carried out by PR practitioners on the P.E.N.C.I.L.S. indicator. namely publications & promotion, events, news, community involvement, identity media, lobbying & negotiation, social investment. Then the implementation of cyber public relations that has been carried out greatly facilitates the duties and responsibilities of a public relations officer in carrying out his roles such as promotion and building reputation.
