Abstract :
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi bagaimana perspektif siswa tentang pembelajaran berbicara melalui platform online selama pandemi covid-19. Desain penelitian naratif digunakan karena peneliti mengeksplorasi pengalaman
siswa selama kelas berbicara melalui platform online dengan wawancara untuk mendapatkan perspektif mereka tentang
menggunakan platform online selama pandemi Covid-19. Kegiatan wawancara dilakukan melalui WhatsApp (suara
catatan). Subjek penelitian ini adalah empat orang mahasiswa Program Studi Pendidikan Bahasa Inggris di salah satu universitas swasta di Kota Banjarmasin. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa cara pandang siswa terhadap pembelajaran
Berbicara melalui platform online di masa pandemi saat ini mendapat respon yang positif. Berarti mereka
sangat menikmati dan termotivasi dengan menggunakan platform tersebut. Mereka merasa diuntungkan dari metode ini dan menghindari kelas konvensional yang mengharuskan mereka tampil di depan dosen dan teman-teman lainnya. Studi ini menemukan bahwa belajar berbicara melalui platform online dapat membantu siswa melatih keterampilan bahasa Inggris melalui percakapan. Kelas berbicara online membuat mereka berinteraksi, karena mereka diminta untuk mengajukan pertanyaan, menyediakan tanggapan dan komentar dan memberikan topik tambahan.
This research is aimed to identify how the students perspective on learning speaking through online platform
during covid-19 pandemic. Narrative research design is used because the researcher explored the experience
of the students during the speaking class through online platform by interview to get their perspective about
using online platform during Covid-19 pandemic. Interview activities were carried out via WhatsApp (voice
note). The subject of this research was four students of English Education Study Program at one of the private
university in Banjarmasin City. The result of this research shows that students? perspective on learning
speaking through online platform during the current pandemic have a positive response. Means that they
really enjoyed and motivated by using that platform. They feel benefited from this method and avoid the
conventional class that requires them to appear in front of lecturers and other friends. This study found that
learning speaking through online platform can help students practice English language skills through
conversation. Online speaking classes make them interact, as they are required to ask questions, provide
responses and comments and provide additional topics.
