ABSTRACT\r\n\r\nWidia Lestari. NPM 16210134. The use of short movie in learning speaking at MTs. Noor Aini Banjarmasin. First advisor Yudha Aprizani, M. Pd and Second advisor Raudhatul Haura, M .Pd\r\n\r\nKeyword : Speaking, Short Movie\r\n\r\nSpeaking is one of the important skills in English subject. It is because someone’s ability to use a language is seen from his ability to communicate orally. Some students faced some problems in learning English especially in speaking. They found difficulty in pronunciation and understanding the meaning of a text or utterances. They also state that the teaching learning process makes them bored easily because they just doing some exercises without interesting activities. Using short movie in teaching speaking is actually meant to help students in achieving and expressing their ideas easily.\r\nThis research was a qualitatave-interview research method. To obtained the data, the researcher did interview with the Students of MTs Noor Aini Banjarmasin as informant. The interview has been held on June 20th 2020. There was eight questions.\r\nThe researcher found the students were like learning English language and they are state speaking lesson is difficult. Students like and interested in learning speaking using short movie as media. Students feel less bored, find it more fun to learn while watching and helpful. This media is suitable to be applied in learning English language, especially learning about speaking, an unusual way of learning, and tends to be relaxed, so that students do not feel over whelmed.\r\nBased on the result of the researcher, the researcher suggest short movie media are recommended to use in teaching speaking activity because it will help students in their speaking ability.
