Abstract :
This thesis discusses the struggle of a free black American who was born in the relatively enlightened state of New York which had abolished slavery in 1799. The interesting issue raised in this novel is what the struggle of reveals in the novel twelve years a slave, and how Salomon Northup as the main character struggled to get a better life in the novel twelve years a slave. The result of this discussion shows that the struggle of Salomon Northup as a free man in the slavery not only for herself but for people that got into the slavery. Northup wants every black people as slave get into the normal life and also can reinteract with other humans as well as.
