Abstract :
This study is conducted to analyze the figurative language of graphic writing written on truck tailgate. There are two statements of the problem: (1) what types of figurative language of graphic writing are written on truck tailgate? (2) What are the meaning of figurative language of graphic writing written on truck tailgate? The writer use Perrine?s theory to analyze the figurative language of graphic writing written on truck tailgate. The writer use descriptive qualitative approach. The data taken from graphic writing written on truck tailgate. The discussion in this analysis include metaphor, simile, personification, paradox, allegory, hyperbole, understatement, and verbal irony. There are 30 graphic writing written on truck tailgate which have figurative language, consist of 8 metaphor, 5 simile, 3 personification, 2 paradox, 4 allegory, 3 hyperbole, 2 understatement, 3 verbal irony. The most dominant figurative language used in graphic writing written on truck tailgate is metaphor.
