Abstract :
Recently, the using a social media is a trend in a society. Variety kinds of social media serves their own features. Social media has an important function in sharing the news, included Facebook which has a feature that is able to share the news namely page. In that page is also available a soccer page which news and registers in it. In this study, the author is aimed in explaining about: (1) register used in soccer Facebook page, and (2) define the lexical and contextual meaning of register. The author use a qualitative approach study to get the information about the register. Data source in this study is from the soccer page of Facebook. The researcher started in collecting the data from August 2020 to May 2021. The data are collected by choose the register, screenshot the information, and identify registers. In this study the researcher has 51 registers collected from soccer Facebook page. The author also identify the lexical and contextual meaning of register that most meaning is contextual meaning with 62%.
