Abstract :
Keywords: Metaphor, song, lyric This study is conducted to analyze the figurative language in selected Bruno Mars? lyric. There are two statements of the problem: (1) what are lyrics found in selected Bruno Mars? songs as categorize on figurative language? (2) What are meaning of selected Bruno Mars? lyric as categorize on figurative language? The writer use Perrine?s theory to analyze the figurative language in selected Bruno Mars? lyric. This research uses a qualitative approaches to produce a descriptive data, in the form of written words and not numbers. The discussion in this analysis include metaphor, simile, symbol, personification, metonymy, hyperbole, allegory. The result of the analysis shows that 40 figurative lyric on Bruno Mars? lyric, consist of 10 personification, 10 symbol, 7 hyperbole, 5 metaphor, 4 simile, 3 allegory, and 1 metonymy.
