Abstract :
Key Words: Hope, Dream, Psychoanalysis This study attempts to analyze Ki Woo's hopes and dreams in Bong Joon Ho's Parasite film. To conduct this analysis, the writer applies a psychological approach, namely using the psychoanalytic theory proposed by Sigmund Freud in his positive psychology concept, the theory of hope by Charles R. Snyder through a literary perspective and the theory of dream by Sigmund Freud through a literary perspective. The results showed several characters of Ki Woo, namely: persistent, smart, and prioritizing his family. The writer found that Ki Woo's character represented the concept of hope proposed by Snyder and the concept of dreams by Freud. Another result found was the fact that Ki Woo's idea of hope was able to influence the other characters in the film and lead them to a better state in life. The first proof is when Ki Woo gave hope to his family by helping them get a job, and the second is when Ki Woo dreamed of saving his father from the bunker at the Park family's house. Each of Ki Woo's representations of hopes and dreams are different, but they all have a similar effect on the characters in the story. Ki Woo finds out, and he channels it with an effect they will definitely feel.
