Abstract :
Rahmawati, Istina. 2021. ?Moral Values in the novel Sunset Bersama Rosie of Tere Liye: Study of Literary Sociology?. Thesis (S1). Bachelor program Indonesia Literature, Faculty of Humanities, Diponegoro University. Supervisor I Dra. Rukiyah, M.Hum. and supervisor II Fajrul Falah, S.Hum., M.Hum. This research uses the novel Sunset Bersama Rosie by Tere Liye, published by Mahaka Publishing in February 2015 for the eleventh edition as the object of research. The focus of the problems of this study, namely (1) the structure of the novel Sunset Bersama Rosie, (2) moral values in the novel Sunset Bersama Rosie. This study used descriptive qualitative method. Data collection is done by reading and note-taking techniques. The data analysis technique uses structural theory and literary sociology theory. The technique of presenting the results of data analysis is descriptive by presenting data in the form of explanations or descriptions. The results obtained from this study are, (1) the structure of the novel Sunset Bersama Rosie has one main character, namely Tegar and nine subordinate characters. Characterization uses the first person point of view. The setting used includes Jakarta, Gili Trawangan, Jimbaran, Mount Rinjani, Segara Anakan Lake, and others. The time setting includes the morning, afternoon, evening, and evening while the social setting is the upper class social background and the social life of the Balinese people. The flow used is a mixed flow. The theme of the novel is a sacrifice. (2) the moral values of the Sunset Bersama Rosie novel produce three forms of moral values and the main character?s values in dealing with life?s problems. The form of moral values in human relations with God is praying to God and being grateful. The form of moral values in human relations with themselves, namely working hard, never giving up, alert, responsible, independent, humble, and honest. The form of moral values in human relations with other people, namely caring for each other, respecting others, helping, willing to sacrifice, and being grateful. The main character?s values in dealing with life?s problems are being willing to sacrifice, alert, brave, caring, steadfast, wanting promises, and giving up easily.
