The goal of the research to (1) identify the kinds of expressive speech act found in
Victoria?s Monet win speech in Grammy Award. (2) describe the realization of the
expressive speech acts in Victoria Monet Speech. (3) describe the actual conditions
of expressive speech acts used in Victoria Monet Speech. The object of this research
are the kinds expressive speech act and the types of speech act found in Victoria?s
Monet Win speech. This research uses descriptive qualitative research because the
analysis is in the form of description rather than number. The writer use noting
techniques as the methods for collecting data and use descriptive methods as the
methods of analyzing data. The data in this research is expressive and the data
source is the expressive speech act in Victoria?s Monet Win speech. The researcher
used descriptive qualitative. The data of this study collected from the Speech script.
In this research, used document analysis for analyzing the data. The finding showed
there were 18 utterances of expressive speech acts, which consisted of 1 expression
of apologizing (5,5 %), 11 expression of thanking (61,1%), 2 expression of
congratulating (11,1%), 0 expression of greeting (0%), 2 expression of wishing
(11,1%), 2 expression of attitudes (11,1%). The result showed the expressive of
thanking are the most dominant expressive speech act She used during her Speech
In Grammy Award.
