Abstract :
This study aims to produce Desmos Web-assisted learning media based on a
contextual approach to improve critical thinking skills of seventh grade junior high
school students, especially on comparison materials. This research uses the ADDIE
development model with the stages of analysis, design, development,
implementation, and evaluation. To determine the quality of learning media, this
media was tested from (1) aspects of validity by media and material expert
validators with the results of the media expert's assessment of 88% and the results
of the material expert's assessment of 95% in the ?Very Good? category, meaning
that the media is feasible (valid) to be used in the learning process; (2) aspects of
practicality with the acquisition of a total score of 85% showing ?Very Good?
criteria carried out in the experimental class after the use of Web Desmos media;
and (3) the quality of Web Desmos media seen from the effectiveness indicator. The
effectiveness of the media is done through posttest followed by T-test, N-Gain test,
and learning completeness test using KBI and Z-test. The assessment results
showed that the average learning outcomes of the experimental class using Web
Desmos were better than the learning outcomes of the control class using
conventional learning. So it can be concluded that mathematics learning media
using Web Desmos based on a contextual approach is effective in improving
students' critical thinking skills.
