Final Project, English Education Study Program, Faculty of Language and Arts Education, University of PGRI Semarang, Advisor I: Indri Kustantinah, S.S., M.Pd., Advisor II: Fitri Yulianti, S.Pd., M.Pd Keywords: figure of speech, Perrine?s theory, song lyric The aims of this research are to identify the types of Figure of Speechs in Sam Smith?s songs? lyric in album The Thrill of It All, to identify the Figure of Speech most dominant in Sam Smith?s songs? lyric in album The Thrill of It All, and to find out the contributions of Sam Smith?s songs? lyric in album The Thrill of It All in teaching Poetry. This research is a qualitaive analysis research which analyzes the Figure of Speech Analysis of The Thrill of It All Album by Sam Smith using Perrine?s Theory and It?s Contribution of Teaching Poetry. Documentary research is used to collected the data. Document analysis is not only collecting and writes in quoting form but also find the result of the analysis of the document.The data of the research are analysed by listening, reading, identifying, classifying, calculating, and making a table of the data. The result indicated that the writer found 8 kinds of Figure of Speech which are found in The Thrill of It All song?s album by Sam Smith. The most dominant Figure of Speech which is used in songs lyric is Symbol with percentage 50,4%. The contributions such as this song lyric could be the media to enhance the knowledge of Poetry, this song lyric could attract the student by reading the content of it so the students will not be bored when studying, this song lyric can improve knowledge of the students of Poetry, especially in introduction to Poetry, and this song lyric has some Figure of Speech that can be an example in teaching introduction to Poetry. The writer hopes for the next researchers, they should develop this study and find new topics which the writer has not already observed
