Abstract :
Aenun Naim,17420099. 2022. The Improvement Of Student?s Reading Comprehension Through Scanning Technique In SMA N 1 Gemuh Kendal in academic years 2021/2022. Final Project, English Education Department, Faculty of Language and Arts Education, University of PGRI Semarang. Advisor I: Prof Suwandi, M.Pd. Advisor II: Dr. Dias Andris, S.Pd The objectives of the final project were 1) to find out the students? reading comprehension of the ten grade of SMA N 1 Gemuh Kendal taught without using the Scanning Technique. 2) to find out the students? reading comprehension of the ten grade of SMA N 1 Gemuh Kendal taught by using the scanning technique, and 3) to find out any significant difference in the students? reading comprehension of the ten grade of SMA N 1 Gemuh Kendal taught without by using and by using the scanning technique. The researcher did this research by quantitative data. The sample of the research is the ten grade students of SMA N 1 Gemuh Kendal The researcher enrolled in two classes with same 35 students. an experimental in X-3 and a control group in X-5. . The multiple choice test was used as the instrument of the research. The mean score of experimental group is 36.00 for pre-test and 84.00 for post-test. The mean score of control group is 75.00 for pre-test and 95.00 for post-test. Those results were formulated with t-test formula. The test score showed that t-test > t-table. The Wilcoxon test output have significant value of 0.000 < 0.050. . It can be concluded that there is a significant differences of the students? ability in reading comprehension using Scanning technique of the ten grade students of SMA N 1 Kendal. The researcher want to make some suggestions for enhancing the quality of teaching and learning by using the Scanning Technique to improve Ten grade students' reading comprehension for the teachers to assist the students in explaining the topic in depth and evaluating the students. . For readers to do research using the same strategy for teaching reading comprehension use this final project as some reference. Key words: Scanning technique, Reading Comprehension
