Abstract :
Lili Hastatriningtyas 2020. The Study of Moral Values in ?Maleficent? Movie and its Contribution to Drama Teaching. Thesis, English Education Department, Faculty of Language and Arts Education, University Of PGRI Semarang. Dr. Nur Hidayat, M.Hum , and Ririn Ambarini, S.Pd, M.Hum. This research is aimed at (1) finding out the moral values in ?Maleficent? movie, and (2) to know the contribution of the movie to drama teaching. The methodology of this study is a qualitative research method. The primary source of data is the ?Maleficent? movie, and the secondary source of the data is the dialogue, duration, action, word, and picture. The result of this study shows that there are some moral values in ?Maleficent? movie such as bravery, honesty, loyalty, kindness and friendliness, love and affection, steadfastness, and sincerity. And the contribution of the movie to drama teaching is the students can learn and practice those positive moral values in their daily life and this movie can be an alternative media or reference in teaching drama in class, students can improve and confidence in speaking English. The researcher hopes that the teacher and the students can learn English by watching the movie. From the moral teaching, they can be used as a guide to a better understanding in a real situation.
