The writer conducted the research from 26 April - 9 May 2019 in seventh grade students? of SMP N 22 Semarang. There were two class chosen as the sample of this research, they were VII C as the control group who are taught without using YouTube Videos and VII F as the experiment class who are taught using YouTube Videos. Each class consists of 32 students. The method of this research was quasi experimental design. The instrument of the research was test, consisting of pre-test and post-test. The test was an essay test. The writer gave pre-test, treatment and post-test to the students. The mean of post-test in the control group was 75.43 which is ?adequate? category, while the mean of post test in the experiment group was 82.4 which is ?good? category. The techniques for data analysis were finding out the mean of pre-test and the mean of post-test by using t-test. The result of calculating the data of significant was 5% with df was 62, table = 1.998 it was obtained table value = 4.12. So, the hypothesis t-test score was higher than t-table 4.12 > 1.998. It means that t-test was accepted. Based on the result of calculation above, it could be seen that the significant difference between the students who were taught using YouTube Videos and those who were not. The positive hypothesis (Ha) was accepted. Therefore, it could be conclude that students who were taught by using YouTube Videos were better than the students who were taught without using YouTube Videos. As suggestion, teacher should use method that can be motivation and make the teaching learning process more interesting for students to write a descriptive text. Using YouTube Videos the students can learn and practice anytime and anywhere. Students should be more active in learning process, especially in learning descriptive texts.
