Abstract :
Agustina, Tiara Citra. 2020. The Analysis of Quality Translation of Novel The da Vinci Code by Dan Brown into Indonesian. Final Project, English Education Department, Faculty of Language and Arts Education, Univerisity of PGRI Semarang. The first advisor is Dr. Dyah Nugrahani, S.Pd., M.Hum., and the second advisor is Ajeng Setyorini, S.S., M.Pd. Keywords: Quality translation, The da Vinci Code novel, Indonesian This final project deals with quality translation analysis. The objectives on this research are 1) to determine the accuracy of translation in The da Vinci Code novel into Indonesian. 2) to know the acceptability in The da Vinci Code novel into Indonesian. 3) to describe the degree of readability translation in The da Vinci Code novel into Indonesian. The type of this research is qualitative research. The objects of this research were the sentence in The da Vinci Code novel series. There were some steps that the writer used in analyzing the data. 1) the writer read English and Indonesian version book for sveral time, and marked line in books, took note that sentence had problem. 2) the writer clasified the data based on level the of accuracy, acceptability and readability. 3) the witer used a model of Translation Quality Assessment (TQA) by Nababan. According to Nababan model in assessing translation quality include of three instruments, namely translation accuracy assessment instrument, translation acceptability assessment instrument and translation readability assessment instrument. The results of this research were as follows 1) the writer found 8 innacurate translation, 52 less accurate translation and 250 accurate translation and the level of the accuracy in The da Vinci Code novel into Indonesian is Less Accurate with score up to 2,42, 2) the writer found 6 unacceptable translation, 33 less acceptable translation and 271 acceptable translation and the level of the acceptability in The da Vinci Code novel into Indonesian is Acceptable with score is up to 2,63, 3) the writer found 2 low readable translation, 20 medium readable translation and 288 high readable translation and the level of the readability in The da Vinci Code novel into Indonesian is High Readable with score is up to 2,78. It is concluded that translation sentence in The da Vinci Code novel into Indonesian by Dan Brown categorized is Well. Based on the conclusion, the writer would like offer some suggestions; they are 1) the translator should be more aware of the aspects of the translation quality assessment 2) the readers should be care when analyzing a quality translation of the novel, and 3) the next researcher could share more reliable informations about quality translation to the researchers.
