Indah Lestari. 15420121. 2019. ? Anaphora found in short story Sun Moon Dust by Ursula Vernon?. Final Project, English Department, Faculty of Language and Arts Education, PGRI Semarang University. Advisor I: Dr. Nur Hidayat, M.Hum and Advisor II: Th. Cicik Sophia Budiman, S.S., M.Pd. Keywords: Qualitative, Anaphora, Short story ?Sun Moon Dust? by Ursula Vernon The objective of the study are (1) to find the types of anaphora found in short story ?Sun Moon Dust?, (2) to describe how anaphora are used and it functions (3) to explain the possible contribution in teaching pragmatics. This is qualitative research. The research uses three steps. The first is reading short story comprehensively. The second is collecting the data. The third step is selecting the utterance. The result shows that there are 3 types of anaphora found in short story ? Sun Moon Dust? by Ursula Vernon. There found Pronomial /personal anaphora, Demonstrative anaphora, and Comparative anaphora. The pronominal/ personal anaphora found in short story are; I, you, he, she, it, we, they, my, your, his, her, our, their, mine, yours. Then, demonstrative anaphora found in short story are this, that, here, there. The last is comparative anaphora found in the short story, they are better and one. Hopefully reading this final project can help the reader to understand anaphora and can be useful in comprehending literally work especially for students who likes pragmatics.
